SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 17, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- A nonprofit, nonpartisan report card comparing the Republican presidential candidates' public records to 10 family values and moral standards is questioning Mitt Romney's claim that he governed as a conservative. (Posted at www.saveamerica.com)

On the January 14, 2012 Huckabee show on Fox News, which was broadcast from Charleston, South Carolina, Romney had the following interchange with a woman in the audience:

Her question: "Can you convince me, as a true conservative, why we should vote for you, a moderate Republican, against any of the other candidates? Will you flip flop if you are elected?"

Romney's answer: "You have an opportunity to get to know me best by looking at my record as governor... and I think you'll find I served as a conservative governor... I don't know whether in a minute I can convince you, but I have a conservative record."

Yet through the comprehensive fact-checking of the "Report Card on the Natural Family," produced by SaveAmerica.com, the national arm of SaveCalifornia.com, which has been standing for moral virtues for the common good since 1999, it's been discovered that Mitt Romney did not govern as a conservative regarding same-sex "marriages," homosexual adoptions, and his programs promoting homosexuality and cross-dressing to children.

"Deeds mean more than words," said SaveAmerica.com President Randy Thomasson. "Our objective voter guide is unique in that it focuses on the natural family centered on a husband and wife and their children, and helps voters overcome mere opinion, personal bias, shallow claims, and media-shaped ideas with the stark reality of stubborn facts that predict what candidates would or would not stand for if they won the White House."

WHAT THE REPORT CARD DISCOVERED ABOUT MITT ROMNEY

ISSUE 1: Support protecting marriage licenses and marriage rights for only one man and one woman? Romney: NO. Documentation: In Massachusetts, Romney without any constitutional authority created homosexual "marriages," personally issued 189 same-sex "marriage" licenses, and fired town clerks that conscientiously disagreed.

ISSUE 2: Oppose marriage substitutes, such as civil unions and domestic partnerships? Romney: NO. Documentation: As governor, Romney advocated for marriage-like "same-sex domestic partnerships" and even pursued legalizing "civil unions," which would have awarded all the rights of marriage to homosexuals.

ISSUE 3: Oppose homosexual couples adopting children? Romney: NO. Documentation: As Governor, Romney spoke in favor of "adoptive parent rights" (2003) and "children born to same-sex couples, and adopted by same-sex couples" (2005), stated homosexuals have "a legitimate interest" to adopt children (2006), awarded "Parents of the Year" recognition to two homosexual men who had adopted a boy (2006), and recently reaffirmed his support for states that permit homosexual adoptions (2011).

ISSUE 7: Oppose supporting or commemorating "Gay Pride" or "LGBT Pride" events? Romney: NO. Documentation: As Governor, Romney issued and signed annual pro-homosexuality proclamations, stating in 2004, "Massachusetts is home to the Governor's Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth, which supports the Commonwealth's gay and lesbian youth through school-based and educational programs." In 2006, Romney's administration issued a news release entitled, "THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE YOUTH PRIDE!" MASSACHUSETTS YOUTH PRIDE COMMITTEE TO TRANSFORM BOSTON COMMON INTO "RAINBOW CITY" FOR 12TH ANNUAL YOUTH PRIDE CELEBRATION.

ISSUE 10: Oppose teaching schoolchildren to support homosexuality, bisexuality, transsexuality? Romney: NO. Documentation: From his 1994 U.S. Senate campaign, to his years as Governor of Massachusetts, to the present day, Romney has supported pro-homosexuality-bisexuality-transsexuality indoctrination of schoolchildren.

"Talk is cheap and campaign promises are a little better," said Thomasson, a longtime West Coast pro-family leader and a registered independent. "But what you've done in the past is the most reliable indicator of what you'll do in the future. While most of the Republican presidential candidates claim to represent family and moral values, let the actual record show they are marching to different drummers on marriage rights, adoption, schoolchildren, obscenity laws, the military, the Boy Scouts, and the homosexual-bisexual-transsexual political agenda."
