ATLANTA, August 17, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Special red carpet advance screening of Sherwood Pictures' highly anticipated new film COURAGEOUS. Forgoing a traditional Hollywood event, Georgia-based Sherwood Pictures, a ministry of Sherwood Church in Albany, Ga., and creators of 2008's No. 1 independent film, FIREPROOF, joins Bubba Cathy and the Cathy family to co-host an invitation-only screening at Atlanta's historic Fox Theater.
At the event, the National Fatherhood Initiative presents its prestigious Fatherhood Award™ to Sherwood Pictures for its work on COURAGEOUS. NFI president Roland C. Warren will present the award to COURAGEOUS Executive Producer and Sherwood Church Senior Pastor Michael Catt in recognition of the film's work to create a movement to inspire better fathering.

SYNOPSIS: Four men, one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, they are confident and focused, standing up to the worst the streets have to offer. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood.
When tragedy strikes home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering.
