CWA's President Wendy Wright Named One of the 100 Most Powerful Women in Washington

WASHINGTON, June 20 /Christian Newswire/ -- Concerned Women for America’s (CWA’s) President Wendy Wright has been named one of the 100 Most Powerful Women by WASHINGTONIAN magazine. The list includes accomplished women from all walks of Washington life who are described as “women who lead and lobby, educate and enlighten, look for cures and pathways to a better world.”

Wright has focused on sanctity of life and international issues for more than 15 years, and is frequently interviewed in national media on moral, social and political issues. She helps promote legislation and international policies that are beneficial to women and families, briefs congressional and administration staff on pro-family issues, and trains grassroots activists.
Wright has testified at the Food and Drug Association (FDA) Advisory Committee hearing on keeping the morning-after pill as prescription only and has coordinated the current challenge by doctors and women of the FDA’s politicized approval of the abortion drug RU-486. Their challenge is based on the drug not meeting safety standards for patients.
She has lobbied at and reported on United Nations conferences on human rights, cloning, women’s rights, population control and children’s rights. She has also testified before a congressional Human Rights caucus exposing attempts to legalize prostitution through the United Nations.
Wright has been involved in freedom of speech cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, Texas Supreme Court and Florida Supreme Court. Her international experience includes teaching at the Sri Lanka Bible College, training leaders of pro-family organizations in Mexico, and advocating on behalf of Chinese refugees fleeing China’s brutal forced abortion and sterilization population program.
