Ellie McLaughlin is a mom of two girls and a graphic designer residing in Colorado. Her first published work, "Oh! The Beautiful Things He Makes!", is a children's picture book intended for ages 4-8 and written to help answer some of the harder questions in life through biblical truths and a focus on the creativity of God. Her hope is to encourage our children in a time ridden by fear and uncertainty. The book contains 7 origami crafts to supplement the themes within the book.
A supplemental activity book, "Oh! The Beautiful Things You'll Make!: Origami For Cubs" was released on 5/12. It dives deeper into the main themes of "Oh! The Beautiful Things He Makes!" with 6 devotions suitable for kids ages 4-8 and more origami crafts.
McLaughlin's two daughters have very different stories and were the inspiration behind the book. Her 10 year old daughter, Lexi, has Autism Spectrum Disorder, and her 8 year old daughter, Ainsley, was adopted at the age of 2 from China. They, like many other children, often try to make sense of the world around them. "Oh! The Beautiful Things He Makes!" is a wonderful way to help encourage a child you love, that God is faithful and assure them of the promise in Romans 8:28, that He works all things for the good of those who love him.
