FORT WORTH, Texas, Jan. 27, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- The following is submitted by Dr. David Newberry:

This week I interviewed Dr. James F. Linzey, who is a highly respected minister of deep faith, regarding his perspectives of Congressman Ron Paul and why he is convinced Americans should support him in the 2012 Presidential Campaign. I would like to share some of his background as an introduction to his statement concerning Ron Paul.

Dr. James Linzey is a retired Army National Guard Born-Again Evangelical chaplain and an evangelist who stands with Israel. Previous speaking engagements include the Council for National Policy in 2005 and the Heritage Foundation in 2011 (both with African American Civil Rights Activist Rev. Dr. William Owens), National Bible Week 2009 and 2010, Congressional Day of Prayer Washington, DC 2011, the Tea Party in San Juan Capistrano, California in 2010, churches and universities. He fights against anti-Semitism and racism wherever he finds it and campaigned for Ronald Reagan.

Dr. Linzey has appeared on several national news networks, Christian television, and a syndicated show. He hosted "Operation Freedom" television broadcasts which were shown in Europe, America, and in the Far East. He has traveled to Canada, Mexico, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine. He is the author of several books, and has been published in newspapers and journals, and is a journalist for Assist News Service.

The statement Chaplain Linzey shared with me is as follows:

First, Ron Paul believes all disruptive sexual conduct in the military should cease. Military personnel and families have the right to be in a moral environment, as per Judeo-Christian standards, on military installations, especially since they are securing America on our behalf.

Many people objected when DADT was enforced, which secretly allowed gays into the military and prevented recruiters and superiors from inquiring of troops concerning their sexual orientation. Then they objected when DADT was repealed, which openly allowed gays to serve because the historic policy banning homosexuality was not reinstated at that time. Ron Paul is open to continued dialogue and a congress controlled by Constitutionalists would facilitate constructive debate to try to resolve this issue in a Constitutional manner.

Second, there are issues with far greater ramifications than DADT which perhaps only Ron Paul would pro-actively handle such as the right to life for unborn children, Second Amendment rights, issuing constitutional money, and not engaging in wars which are not congressionally declared. It seems Republican presidents have given lip service to some of these issues for decades. But I believe Ron Paul's determination to resolve these issues in accordance with the Constitution can be trusted based on his record of keeping his promises to his constituents.

Third, some believe Ron Paul is too libertarian. Well, on one hand, we can return to a constitutional republic and more freedom than we've had since the 1800s with Ron Paul as president. Or on the other hand, we can increasingly evolve into a Marxist totalitarian regime as "establishment" Republican leadership continually gives lip service to these vital issues, and remains supportive of undeclared wars and the Federal Reserve Corporation which dictates to Congress what U.S. domestic and foreign policy shall be. Their dictates are not in our favor. Ron Paul knows this. He wants to dismantle it. I would hope Americans would support him on this.

Fourth, some say we're not responsible enough to handle libertarian freedom which a constitutional republic affords. But unless we succeed at regaining our freedom, we won't have the freedom to talk about responsibility. If we won't support Ron Paul, we might not have a president who supports us.

Fifth, some say we need a candidate who can out-debate President Obama. Ron Paul certainly could accomplish this with our support. But because special interest groups haven't "approved" of his campaign, the moderators don't give him much time to debate even his fellow GOP contenders who are apparently "approved." Furthermore, other than a Ron Paul presidency, it might not ultimately matter whether another Republican contender or President Obama wins. Remember, our problem today is an American problem, not a Democrat or Republican problem. If we're going to solve the problem, we need an American president who is loyal to the Constitution, not another Republican president who will give mere lip service to the problem only to facilitate America's continued demise. That's treason.

As Marcus Tullius Cicero, a Roman constitutionalist, said in 42 B.C., "A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."

Sixth, In his book, The Crash of 2008 and What It Means, George Soros states, "So what does the end of an era really mean? I contend that it means the end of a long period of relative stability based on the United States as the dominant power and the dollar as the main international reserve currency. I foresee a period of political and financial instability, hopefully to be followed by the emergence of a new world order."

Therefore if there were a time when we most needed a president who most cherished the Constitution, that time is now and that man is Ron Paul.

In conclusion, for years Americans have talked much about "taking America back." But talk is not enough. We have to actually do it. We have to make the right decision this time and encourage others to do likewise. This may be our last chance to prevent America's demise.

And in closing, Ronald Reagan tried to prepare us to support Ron Paul for such a time as this by saying, "Ron Paul is one of the outstanding leaders fighting for a stronger national defense," and "We need to keep him fighting for our country."

I work with Rev. Jim Linzey on the board of directors of Military Bible Association and I am in agreement with his concerns about America and the politics ruining our nation. I have spent much of my life overseas since 1972, and I can objectively see how liberalism is destroying our Constitution. America needs a major wake up call.
