PORTLAND, Ore., May 8 /Christian Newswire/ -- In the midst of tremendous growth and expansion, All God's Children International (AGCI) took another step forward in their service to orphans by appointing John Blanchard as their new president this past Monday. Blanchard brings with him more than 30 years of management, finance, and non-profit experience, as well as a steadfast commitment to passionately serve the world's forgotten children.
With a background in business and education administration, Blanchard has filled such roles as director of operations for The Nature Conservancy of Oregon, vice president of the Oregon State University Foundation, and vice president of administrative services for Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon. For the past six months Blanchard has acted as chief financial officer for AGCI.
"I feel blessed and honored by this new role," commented Blanchard after the appointment on Monday. "I'm excited about the future and am humbled by this opportunity. I will do my best to take this ministry to the next level--dedicating my time and effort to rescuing and caring for as many forgotten children around the world as possible."
In spite of tough economic times, AGCI has seen encouraging growth. Founded in 1991, the Portland-based adoption and orphan care agency now serves thousands of orphans in nine nations. They provide full-scale orphan care and first-rate adoption programs and services.
