WASHINGTON, Dec. 5 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Christian Defense Coalition will display the Nativity Scene on Saturday, December 6, starting at 10:00 A.M. in Times Square.
The location is Broadway and 44th Street right below MTV studios.
The Christian Defense Coalition based in Washington, D.C., thanks New York City for giving permission to publicly display the Nativity.
The display is part of a nationwide campaign called, "The Nativity Project," which encourages individuals and groups to display Nativity Scenes in public places across America.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, states, "We are seeing a growing hostility toward expressions of faith in the public square. Nowhere is this seen more than during the Christmas season where over the past several years Nativity Scenes, Christmas parades, the singing of Christmas Carols have been removed from the public arena.
"'The Nativity Project' is a positive and creative step forward in which citizens and groups can actively go into the public square and display Nativity Scenes nationwide during the Christmas season. This is what we are doing in Times Square this Saturday.
"It is imperative that we remind all Americans that the First Amendment promises freedom 'of' religion not freedom 'from' religion. Public religious freedom and speech must be protected and promoted.
"It is also critical during these challenging and difficult economic times to be reminded that the birth of the Christ-child promises 'peace and goodwill' to all who seek Him."
