Shelley Obilam, Scripture Sweets founder, came up with the idea while searching for ways to reach her Sunday school classes. "I wanted to find a creative way to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with my students," said Shelley. "I figured that turning down a scripture by refusing to eat a chocolate bar would be rare." From this seed, Scripture Sweets was born.

As a novice entrepreneur, Shelley's story of creating Scripture Sweets is a testament to her faith. She was served many, many no's. Instead, through determination and tedious research she discovered chocolate manufacturers who could make custom high-quality chocolate bars with specialized wrappings.

Finally, she received a yes to begin Scripture Sweets.

"When you are involved in ministry, you are always faced with the question - How do I win souls for Christ without being too pushy or annoying?" Obilam said. "Jesus said to preach the Gospel, but who will listen?"
