MEDIA ADVISORY, Jan. 30 /Christian Newswire/ -- Kenneth Clifton (B.S. Degree in Religion - Bible Concentration, Liberty University) has issued a new book calling for Christians to rise up to meet their own world's challenges. The Christian Superhero Training Guide is a call for Christians to stand in the role and power that God assigned for them to have in this life. It includes Bible examples of Christian superheros, superhero gifts by God, arch foes, and resources to aid current day Christian superhero (believers).
The first part of the book covers superheroes found in Scripture, including Heaven Walker (Enoch), Dream Reader (Joseph), Miracle Man (Elijah), Lion Tamer (Daniel), The Master (Jesus), Ghost Busters (The Seventy) God Carriers (current believers) and more. Each chapter contains the background, powers, power use, summary, lessons learned, and Scriptures related to each superhero.
Next, the guide covers the five superheroes that Clifton says all believers must face: The Condemned (Demons), The Living Dead (the World), Biological Weapons (The Flesh), Faith Infection (Doubt), and Glory Sunspots (Pride). Each chapter lists the background, powers, power use, summary, lessons learned, and Scriptures for each arch foe.
Clifton, then, adds resources that will benefit Christian superheroes. The first resource is the Ten Demonic Lies Answered with Logic and Scripture, including that Demons Don't Exist, God Doesn't Love You, Jesus Was Just a Man, and others. Each lie is defeated with logical and Scriptural answers.
The final resources are 100 Scriptures about God's Providence, Silver Bullet Arguments (that help Christians win debates about creationism and more), and poetry written by Clifton about Heaven.
"God didn't plan and empower us to be ruled by evil but to rule it," Clifton says. "We are God's Body on the earth, but many want that body to have no power to heal or help those in need. We are God's light in the darkness, but many want that light to not offend the darkness. We have God's promises in Scripture, but many want to selfishly keep that treasure to themselves, if they use it at all. This guide seeks to change that."
The Christian Superhero Training Guide can be found at amazon.com, bn.com, etc., or it can be ordered through most bookstores through Ingram. The e-book can be found and downloaded through Clifton's site christiansuperhero.com. It retails at $10.46 in paperback or $1.25 for the e-book.
