Calif. Governor gets bills requiring textbooks, teachers, and school activities to promote transsexuality, bisexuality, homosexuality to schoolchildren

SACRAMENTO, Sept. 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- A controversial duo of California bills requiring schoolchildren as young as kindergarten to support transsexuality, bisexuality and homosexuality is headed to the desk of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who vetoed similar bills last year (SB 1437 Kuehl, AB 606 Levine).

Campaign for Children and Families (CCF) will hold a news conference urging the Governor to again veto these bills, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. outside the State Capitol on the 10th St. sidewalk.
SB 777 by lesbian state Senator Sheila James Kuehl, a Santa Monica Democrat, requires textbooks, instructional materials, and school-sponsored activities to positively portray cross-dressing, sex-change operations, homosexual "marriages," and all aspects of homosexuality and bisexuality, including so-called "gay history." For all practical purposes, silence on these sexual lifestyles will simply not be permitted. SB 777 passed the Assembly today on a 43 to 23 vote and has been sent to the Governor.
A companion bill, AB 394 by Assemblyman Lloyd Levine, a Van Nuys Democrat, passed the state Senate today on a 24 to 12 vote, and will go to the Governor after passing the Assembly on a concurrence vote. AB 394 pushes schools to distribute material to teachers, students, and parents which promotes transsexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality, all done under the guise of "anti-harassment" training. Under AB 394, family values expressed by teachers and students could be labeled as "harassment."
"Parents get very angry when politicians dream of sexually indoctrinating their children in the classroom," said Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families (CCF), a leading California-based pro-family organization. "Kindergarteners and first-graders learning about transsexuality, bisexuality and homosexuality from their teachers? This is not what parents want or children need. Parents expect Governor Schwarzenegger to be consistent and veto these bad bills like he did before."
SB 777 adds an unnatural definition of gender to the Education Code: "'Gender' means sex, and includes a person's gender identity and gender related appearance and behavior whether or not stereotypically associated with the person's assigned sex at birth." SB 777 also deletes the true definition of "sex" from the Education Code, which currently reads: "'Sex' means the biological condition or quality of being a male or female human being." The bill's wide-open definition of "sexual orientation" would mean homosexual "marriages" and all aspects of homosexuality and bisexuality would be positively portrayed to children as young as kindergarten. The new law would be enforced by the California Department of Education.
