Christian Newswire/ -- Hurricane Matthew brought a devastating blow to the east coast with power outages and down trees, but the worst was yet to come with record breaking flood waters threatening hundreds of people who had to evacuate to shelters. The community responded with clothes, shelters, and perishables, but Recording Artist Lessette who lives in the little town of Kinston, NC. which was devastated by the flood found an unusual way to encourage the people in the shelters. "After The Storm" is the anthem for storm survivors.
Lessette Kornegay (artist name Lessette) singer/songwriter wrote this timeless song for hurting people to encourage them that after their storm the sun will shine again. She has lived through domestic violence and a bad divorce that has given her a heart for hurting people. That's why she wrote "After The Storm," and it speaks of divorce, death, tragedy and broken hearts."
Determined to make a difference, she sang "After The Storm" at the Disaster Relief Shelters, Kinston High School and
Lenoir Community College. The people were encouraged with tears of joy.
"We pay so much attention in preparing for the storm, but we forget about after the storm. People experience storms AFTER THE STORM," she said.
