China Aid Asks International Community to Join Chinese Christian Leaders in Solemn Assembly to Pray for China at www.VOCN.tv
MEDIA ADVISORY, June 4 /
Christian Newswire/ -- China Aid is asking the international community to please join China's Christian leaders and others for a solemn assembly as they gather at the National Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. The gathering will be available via web streaming tonight, at 7 p.m. (EST) at
www.VOCN.tv At this unprecedented gathering, 20 years after the massacre in Tiananmen Square, Chinese and American Christians will stand together in prayer to usher in a new day of true hope and justice for China.
Many of the leaders suffered severe repercussions at the hands of authorities for their participation in the peaceful protest in Tiananmen Square on June 4, 1989. In the aftermath of the massacre, the failure of the movement and in their search for truth, these leaders found hope and reality in Jesus Christ.
At the solemn assembly, leaders will unite to re-affirm their written manifesto which to date has been signed by 226 Chinese Christian leaders. The manifesto calls for forgiveness, repentance, truth, justice and reconciliation regarding the Tiananmen Square massacre of June 4, 1989. Chinese leaders will unite under Jesus Christ to be re-commissioned by Him, and to align with His heart and purposes over their nation.
Bob Fu stated, "China is at a crossroad. We pray in unity that the international community will choose to stand in true solidarity with China's freedom pursuers without any wavering so that a God-fearing, human rights and dignity-respecting new China will emerge as a blessing to the whole world in the 21st century."
This gathering is sponsored by ChinaAid with co-sponsorship by God Bless China Foundation and Washington International Church.
