WASHINGTON, June 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- This Monday, June 19, 2006, the National Pro-Life Action Center on Capitol Hill (NPLAC)—in conjunction with representatives from several other organizations—will host, “The Cutting Edge: Modern Science and Ethics in Stem Cell Research,” a symposium that will address the reasons why the federal funding of embryonic stem cell research is ethically, morally and financially corrupt. 

The event will include information on the latest advancements and successes in adult and cord blood stem cell research, and will include a thorough analysis of the bills currently under consideration by the U.S. Senate to federally fund this work, including the controversial Santorum-Specter “compromise” bill. 

The seminar—which begins at 10 a.m. and will be held in the Senate Caucus Room (SR-325) in the Russell Senate Office Building—is being offered as an educational tool for senators and their staff as they consider this all-important legislation.
