PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 10, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- All God's Children International (AGCI) congratulates the Watson family of Knoxville, Tennessee on their selection this morning by the television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The Watsons adopted a son from Ethiopia through AGCI, which helped inspire their ministry of family preservation that has been established in Knoxville.
"We are so happy for the Watsons," said Hollen Frazier, Executive Director of AGCI. "This will be a great blessing for their ministry to help preserve families, so children can grow up in the loving environment that every child deserves."
Daniel and Mandy Watson are not only the proud adoptive parents of three adorable, fun-loving kids with boundless energy, but they are also inspirational examples of how people can make a difference in the lives of so many others. Having both been raised by single mothers, the Watsons work tirelessly to transform the lives of low-income, single mother families by providing the tools necessary to succeed in life. Five years ago, they left their jobs and created a non-profit organization that provides single mothers with housing at a local apartment complex as well as mentoring and advocacy to become confident, self-sufficient and productive members of their community.
The knock on the Watson's door this morning began a whirlwind of activity that will take place over the next week. Over 3,000 people have volunteered to help make the transformation happen within the week.
The Emmy award winning reality program "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," now in its 9th season, is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. It is executive-produced by Brady Connell and George Verschoor. David Goldberg is Chairman, Endemol North America. The show airs as holiday specials on ABC.
