SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 16, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- Statement by William B. May, President of Catholics for the Common Good and spokesperson for the Marriage Reality Movement:
"This is the day we have been waiting for – when the US Supreme Court will finally give the voters their day in court about their right to preserve marriage between a man and a woman as the only civil institution that specifically unites kids with their moms and dads.
"While activist judges around the country have been overruling the will of the voters on marriage, the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals found voters and legislators do indeed have the right to define marriage as between a man and a woman at the state level. We are confident that reason will prevail within the U.S. Supreme Court, as it did before the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals."
The Marriage Reality Movement, led by Catholics for the Common Good is a coalition of people seeking to restore a culture in which it is once again the norm for men and women to marry before having children. See more information at takebackmarriage.org.
