CWA Appoints Phyllis Nemeth as State Director in California

Contact: Stacey Holliday, Concerned Women for America, 202-488-7000 ext. 126

WASHINGTON, Mar. 7 /Christian Newswire/ -- Concerned Women for America (CWA) is thrilled to announce the selection of Phyllis Nemeth as State Director for California.  Mrs. Nemeth has extensive experience in serving the public.  She is known for her recent work in southern California as the L.A. Tri-Counties Area Director for Concerned Women for America.  Also, Mrs. Nemeth has served as a Prison Fellowship volunteer and inaugurated the Angel Tree program at her church.

Phyllis became a CWA State Director because she believes that it is essential for prayer followed by action to effect change in the current cultural climate.  Some of her goals for her state include energizing Christians in the Golden State to become activists based on Biblical principles and to offer a Lobby Day at the State Capitol in Sacramento where Californians can learn how bills become laws and how to purposefully meet with their legislators.

As California's new State Director, Mrs. Nemeth will work with the 23,000 members in California to build additional Prayer/Action Chapters and coordinate CWA's grassroots activities in legislation and media.  CWA's goals are to preserve the eternal values that support the Biblical design of the family, protect life at all stages, fight pornography and obscenity, tackle the declining quality of education, support the rights of individuals to pray and worship without persecution and increase understanding of the United Nations and its agenda.

Beverly LaHaye founded CWA in 1979.  Since that time, CWA has become the nation's largest public policy women's organization with more than 500,000 members.  Its mission is to protect and promote Biblical values among all citizens—first through prayer, then education, and finally by influencing our society—thereby reversing the decline in moral values in our nation.

Phyllis Nemeth can be contacted by phone at (626) 227-4266, or e-mail at director@california.cwfa.org.
