OPINION, Aug. 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- The following is submitted for publication by David K. Sumrell:
Hunting Deer with Jesus
On August 14th, 2007 at approximately 3:00 a.m., a young man was traveling to work early so he would be in position to be on the boat and ready to leave at 5:30 a.m., when he fell asleep at the wheel of his jeep and ran off the road. He followed a ditch for almost 300 feet before hitting a driveway. The jeep was catapulted into the air and flipped 2 or 3 times ejecting this 21 year old man out of the jeep and into the street, killing him instantly. He was a young man with his faith in the Lord.
The night before his death, he was with his dad and as they did so many times were talking about things, when his dad warned him about being 21 and invincible. His dad told him if he did not stop burning the candle at both ends, it would kill him. He immediately told his dad these words " dad, you know how much I love you and I know how much you love me, if I don't see you in the morning, then I will see you in heaven." They both agreed a long time ago that this was the way it would be, except then it was because his dad was suppose to die.
This young man I am telling you'll about is my son David K. Sumrell II. He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, and hunter. He loved animals with a passion and he loved to hunt for the food they gave to everyone he fed from them. He has gone to heaven to go Heavenly Deer Hunting with His Lord!
He had watched me dying of cancer and how the Lord saved me by removing the melanoma cancer from him without any medications. His faith allowed him to share God's Love to others and give God the Glory of this miraculous recovery. He was an advocate for God's love, mercy and compassion with all of his friends and even grownups with his love for the Lord.
He loved to tell everyone about his dads promise to God, and how his dad fulfilled his promise to the Lord and wrote three books in His honor. I wish everyone could have known him, because you would have loved him.
He is in heaven and he is rejoicing with the Lord!
Praise be to God!
