GARDEN GROVE, Calif., Nov. 5, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- Caitlin Crosby, founder of The Giving Keys and also an actress and singer, will be the featured guest on this week's "Hour of Power with Bobby Schuller" (www.hourofpower.org). The newly re-launched program will also feature Tom Tipton, an "Hour of Power" favorite, who has appeared on the program more than 100 times in the last three decades. He will sing "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" and will be accompanied by Art Scott on piano. The Hour of Power Choir, directed by Don Neuen, will sing "Rejoice, the Lord Is King" while accompanied by Zeljko Marasovich on organ.
This week's spiritual discipline is a meditation prayer from Psalm 74. During the discipline, people should meditate on these words: "Precious Dove, remain on me. Precious Dove, remain on me. Father's gift, remain for me. Christ's presence, remain with me. Dear Spirit, remain in me. Amen."
Crosby founded The Giving Keys (www.thegivingkeys.com) to help empower people to make the transition out of homelessness. The nonprofit has partnered with the United Way, PATH and Chrysalis in an effort to guide people into self-sufficiency. Crosby also engraves old keys with inspirational words. The keys are designed to inspire their owner before being passed on to encourage someone else.
"So many people today struggle with trying to provide adequately for themselves and their families," said Bobby Schuller. "Caitlin's mission in life is to help people who are struggling with the basics of life. It's a great mission, and I hope every Christian finds encouragement and direction in her example."
The new 'Hour of Power' retains its popular sacred music and sermon while incorporating new segments, including special guests interviewed on location and popular music performers. The program is produced by Baas Creative, the film company that created the innovative "Nooma" videos, which present Jesus in compelling ways.
The ministry, founded by Schuller's grandfather, began as the Garden Grove Community Church at the Orange Drive-in Theatre in 1955, soon adding a 300-seat chapel four miles away. It later expanded to the larger campus. As the ministry grew, in 1970 the "Hour of Power" television program launched and aired in all 50 states by 1975. The program eventually became the most-watched religious program in the world, reaching 17 million viewers.
"Hour of Power with Bobby Schuller" can be seen in the U.S. on TBN, The Church Channel, Oxygen and local ION Television in Tampa/St. Petersburg, Phoenix, Grand Rapids and Los Angeles.
Supported by a network of 11 Hour of Power local offices around the world, the full-hour airs internationally in Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, New Zealand, Pearl River Delta/China Mainland, the Republic of Ireland, Russia, South Africa and other African countries, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
