Christian Newswire/ -- "If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14)
Recently, Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana signed HB 388. The law has the potential to shut down three of Louisiana's five remaining abortion clinics. It may even have a negative impact upon Planned Parenthood's proposed mega center in New Orleans currently under construction.
Providentially, Operation Save America is gearing up for its national event in New Orleans, Louisiana from July 19-26, 2014. Committed Christians throughout America will join with area churches in New Orleans. The three clinics in question just happen to be the ones OSA will visit with the love and truth of Christ.
OSA, through national membership and in partnership with area churches, offers the Gospel, pregnancy counseling, support, and transitional assistance to women in crisis. When OSA first visited New Orleans in 1995, the city housed eight abortion clinics. Today there is one.
To help prepare the way, OSA is calling for three days of fasting and prayer (July 14-16, 2014). At the same time, OSA is seeking to commence a national prayer movement called American Chronicles 7:14. Beginning July 14, 2014 (7-14-14), Christians everywhere are asked to stop and pray for America twice a day (7:14 in the morning and/or 7:14 in the evening). This national prayer movement is set to continue through the midterm elections, which ends November 4, 2014. OSA's goal is to inspire Christians with a common vision of restoring our country through meeting the righteous requirements set forth in 2 Chronicles 7:14.
Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas, Assistant Director of OSA, is helping to spearhead the New Orleans outreach. According to Thomas, "The great need of the hour is for multitudes with broken and contrite hearts to seek God to deliver our nation from evil. We love our nation and pray that we will return to the God of the Bible, who alone can hear from heaven, forgive our sins, and bring healing to our broken, wounded land. Offering life and hope at abortion clinics is merely our prayers of repentance in action. Together, the church can make a difference."
