MEDIA ADVISORY, April 10, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Tune-in to Lifetime Television Network's program, The Balancing Act, on Tuesday morning, April 12, between 7 and 8am (ET/PT) and hear "America's Grandpa" and Christian therapist, Tom McQueen, talk about his award-winning book, "Letters to Ethan: A Grandfather's Legacy of Life & Love."
McQueen is the founder of LegacyNationUSA, a division of the not-for-profit American Family Foundation, dedicated to enriching the lives of children and families nationwide.
The Excellence in Media Foundation recently named McQueen’s "Letters to Ethan: A Grandfather's Legacy of Life and Love" (Seraphina Press, November 2010) as an Angel Award winner.
An organization focused on encouraging media to deliver positive, inspirational messages, the Excellence in Media Foundation created the Angel Awards specifically as a way to raise awareness and motivate media companies to produce more child friendly entertainment.
The Angel Award honors works of outstanding moral, ethical or social impact. Notable past recipients include Tom Hanks, John Tesh and Diane Sawyer.
"'Letters to Ethan' isn't just a book," says McQueen, grandfather of two. "Along with my Legacy Nation campaign, it's the start of a movement that aims to truly engage parents and grandparents as the true teachers and mentors for their children and grandchildren, and it's an honor to be among the many great entertainers who've won this award."
Letters to Ethan was inspired by McQueen's childhood wish to know his paternal grandparents, who died before he was born. The book is a collection of letters written to his young grandson sharing the life lessons of love and friendship that McQueen never had the opportunity to learn from his own grandparents.
McQueen's Legacy Nation campaign launched late last year and encourages parents and grandparents to share their wisdom through letters uploaded to the Legacy Nation website. These letters are used by McQueen in presentations to churches of every faith throughout the country.
