JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 7, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- American churches are at risk of extinction. How can this risk be stopped? The risk can be eliminated by training churches and parents to reach their children early in the child's life.
Why is CHILDREN'S MINISTRY LEADERSHIP focused on helping people to reach the next generation? Churches can only continue if they reach children. Edward L. Hayes cited, "Augustus H. Strong, a leading theologian, was captive to an idea that the conversion of children was vital to Christian expansion." Edward L. Hayes, Evangelism of Children, Bibliotheca Sacra, 132:527 (July 75) p. 251.
Why is it so important for parents to pass the gospel on to their children and grandchildren?
If children are not won to Christ early in life they are more likely not to ever place their faith in Christ. This is evidenced by, "The current Barna study indicates that nearly half of all Americans who accept Jesus Christ as their savior do so before reaching the age of 13 (43%), and that two out of three born again Christians (64%) made that commitment to Christ before their 18th birthday."

How could it affect the future of American churches and world missions?
Greg Stier said it this way, "If I were a business man I would focus on the demographic that was most likely to, not only buy my product, but sell it to their friends. Well guess what? In the Christian world teenagers are the most likely demographic to accept Jesus and get their friends to do the same." If American churches are going to grow, if the next generation will be reached for Christ, if missionaries will be sent to the uttermost parts of the earth, then reaching children for Christ must be paramount.

Who might have a need for CHILDREN'S MINISTRY LEADERSHIP? The largest group of people that need this ministry resource are parents. No one cares more about a child more than their parents; therefore the parents are the most qualified for this all important and divine task. Abraham Lincoln said, "The one that rocks the cradle, rules the world." Every parent can be a world-changer.
