MIAMI, Feb. 19 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Christian Defense Coalition based in Washington, D.C. will ask State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle to prosecute those involved at a news conference Friday, February 20.
The news conference will be held in front of the E.R. Graham Building, 1350 N.W. 12th Ave. in Miami at 11:00 A.M.
The group will also read a letter from Florida House Speaker, Ray Sansom, calling for criminal charges for all those involved.
Part of the letter reads, "The undersigned Members of the Florida Legislature from both sides of the debate on this issue strongly urge you to take appropriate action against the individuals involved in these morally reprehensible acts."
After the news conference, Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, will attempt to meet face to face with the State Attorney and those involved with investigating this case.
The Coalition will directly ask why no charges have been filed after two years and call for justice in this case.
In July of 2006, unlicensed clinic employees at an abortion clinic delivered a live 23-week old girl and then put the child in a trash bag and stashed the child on the roof of the clinic to die.
A little over a week ago the Florida Board of Medicine revoked the medical license of Peirre Renelique the abortion doctor who ran the clinic.
Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney states, "The facts of this case are barbaric. A young child is born and in a panic clinic employees stuff her into a trash bag and put her on a roof in the hot, burning, Florida, summer sun to die.
"Why have no charges been filed?
"We call upon State Attorney Rundle to stand for justice and protect the citizens of Florida by swiftly filing criminal charges against all those involved. Dr. Martin Luther King said 'justice too long delayed is justice denied.' Tragically justice is being denied to the people of Florida and especially to this innocent child and her mother.
"After our news conference, we will attempt to meet with the State Attorney and attempt to find out the status of this case."
