Jerry Kline buried his head in his hands. Pain stabbed through his head like a brain-freeze, but he hadn't eaten any ice cream.

Less than a month later, on January 30, 2004, Kline sat in his doctor's office staring at a film of a 1 ¾-inch oval mass perched on top of his brain, just above his right ear. His diagnosis: malignant Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) tumor an aggressive, high-grade brain tumor that few survive.
