PHOENIX, April 3 /Christian Newswire/ -- Grand Canyon University recently formed a military division which is marketing a military scholarship to veteran, active duty and retired military personnel and their spouses - one of the most aggressive military discounts available to spouses.

The Military Tuition scholarship discounts the per credit cost for its courses to the amount that is reimbursed through the military tuition assistance program, enabling undergraduate students with a military record to obtain a baccalaureate degree with no out-of-pocket cost.

"Many individuals aborted plans to obtain their degree initially when they had the call to serve. We can help them, and their spouses, achieve their degree and obtain the financial support to help them meet their educational goals," said Wendy Proffitt, director of GCU's military division.

Proffitt and her colleagues in the military division at GCU are all veterans, and understand the obstacles and questions that military personnel have when it comes to continuing their education.

"Many military personnel may be at a crossroads, wondering where to go, and what to do next," Proffitt said. "With our background and experience, we are best suited to provide these students with the academic and financial support they require to take their careers to the next level."

As a Service Member Opportunity College (SOC), GCU can offer its Military Tuition Scholarship to military personnel and their spouses that is equal to the SOC guidelines, which is a commitment to fair, equitable and effective policies and practices that recognize and deal with the special conditions faced by military students who want to obtain a college education.

GCU's military division can assist potential students with several VA educational benefits, such as the Montgomery GI Bill, Tuition Assistance (Top-Up), Tutorial Assistance, and Vocational Rehabilitation.
