WASHINGTON, Oct. 6 /Christian Newswire/ -- Today, the Susan B. Anthony List announced its endorsement of Tim Griffin, candidate for U.S. House in Arkansas' Second District, against State Senator Joyce Elliott. 

"Joyce Elliott's candidacy promises only more votes for the Pelosi pro-abortion agenda," said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser.  "But Tim Griffin will bring the leadership experience of an Army JAG officer and a prosecutor to the fight for Life in the U.S. House of Representatives."

Griffin's record of service and leadership is a long one, having served 14 years as an Army JAG officer.  From 2001-2002, he also served as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas in Little Rock.  In 2005, he served as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director, Office of Political Affairs at the White House and, from 2006-2007, served as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas.

Griffin will face Democrat Joyce Elliott in the November general election.  Elliott refused to support a partial birth abortion ban and voted against a parental notification bill in her time as a state senator.

"Ironically, Tim Griffin represents women's real views and needs on the issue of abortion far better than his female opponent does," Dannenfelser said.  "Joyce Elliott has been no friend to women and the unborn in the Arkansas State Senate.  Refusing to support Arkansas' ban on partial birth abortion is an extreme position and the Susan B. Anthony List is committed to ensuring that Arkansas voters see the clear contrast between her pro-abortion record and Tim Griffin's commitment to protecting Life."

Tim Griffin has been endorsed by Arkansas Right to Life.
