EVENT: Response to the nationwide attacks, boycotts, and intimidation of U.S. churches, businesses, and individuals associated with the effort in California and throughout the country to preserve traditional marriage. Interfaith and community leaders in California will speak on behalf of our citizens who continue to be harassed and attacked simply for their votes, or for their desire to support a ballot initiative in California. Florida and Arizona also passed identical constitutional amendments by large margins in this past election, as have 27 other states in America. A total of 44 out of 50 states currently have laws upholding traditional marriage. Californians passed Proposition 8 by a five point margin, carrying the votes of the majority of counties in California.
